Prior to co-founding Soho Growth Equity, Mr. Esrey was most recently COO of Juvo Mobile Inc., a fintech company operating around the world and partnering with the world’s largest communication and banking institutions.
His role often draws upon his operating and investment ibackground. Prior to Juvo, Mr. Esrey co-founded Golden Peak Equity in August 2005. From founding to present, Golden Peak Equity has acquired 15+ companies. Mr. Esrey also played the operating role of CFO for Northern Metals LLC and CMI-TMC Holdings LLC, the investment vehicles formed when these companies were acquired by Golden Peak.
In 2013 the company sold its holdings in the state of Nebraska which included 6 facilities processing more than 260,000 tons of scrap steel and 30 million pounds of non-ferrous per year which generated in excess of $125m in revenue.
In 2007 the company sold its holdings in the Minneapolis / St. Paul area which included 10 facilities processing more than 650,000 tons of scrap steel and 80 million pounds of non-ferrous per year which generated in excess of $250m in revenue.
In 1999, Mr. Esrey helped found and was the Senior Vice President of Operations for MetaTV, a media software company in the interactive TV industry that was acquired by Comcast Corporation. While at MetaTV, Mr. Esrey grew the business from inception to a world-class organization – raising in excess of $70 million in capital with customers and partners including Comcast, Cox, Rogers Cable, Echostar and Microsoft.
Mr. Esrey’s career spans 30+ years with leading companies in the investment banking, private equity and consulting industries advising companies in the technology, media and telecommunication industries. Mr. Esrey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Duke University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
